Do you live, work, or play in downtown Richmond? Artist Jonathan Lee, the University of Richmond Downtown, and Boatwright Library’s Book Arts Studio invite individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in creating a portrait of Richmond’s downtown community.

Quick Overview: Participants are given a handmade 12 page book, for notes and sketches, and a 10.5" x 8.5" x 0.20" board, for the final piece. Only asking the question “Who do you think you are?”, participants interview one another before creating conceptual portraits. At the exhibition, the collected portraits will be hung in a grid and everyone's books will be available on a shelf. All participants will have work included in the exhibition. All workshops will be at the University of Richmond Downtown (626 E. Broad Street) and are open to adults and youth (15+). Lunch or dinner and art activities for children will be provided.
